I am thankful for many
things. I am thankful for my salvation. How good of God to save me, I,
who am nothing but a wretched sinner. I am thankful for God’s working in
my life. I am thankful for Jesus. I owe Him my entire being. He owns my
body, soul and spirit. I am thankful that he intercedes for me. I am
thankful for the struggle against sin for I know that one day this
remaining corruption of mine will finally be gone. I am thankful for the
gift of eternal life.
I am thankful for my family,
for Kris and the children. I am thankful that they love me. I am
thankful that I can love them. I am thankful that they can see through
my faults and help me become more like Jesus. I am thankful for their
honesty in pointing me continually to Christ. I am thankful that they
allow me time to read and study as much as I do. I am thankful that God
has blessed me with my family who love the Lord and want to serve Him
unreservedly.
I am thankful for this world
in which I live. I am thankful that God has given us His bountiful
creation to rejoice in. I am thankful for nature and its beauty. I am
thankful that I can enjoy these benefits that God has so blessed me
with.
I am thankful for my church
family. I am thankful that you listen to me with such regularity, and
for the constant love and encouragement that you shower upon me. I am
thankful for your faithful praying for me. I thank God for each one of
you. I am thankful for the opportunity to proclaim the riches of God’s
grace Sunday by Sunday. I am thankful for those who serve with me. How
grateful to God I am for them.
I am thankful for the love
you show to our children. I am thankful for their Sunday school teachers
who teach them faithfully every week. Only God will reveal the influence
of this weekly time.
I am thankful for the
opportunity that God has given us in the local church. I am thankful
that we can develop into the people that God wants us to be. I am
thankful to be able to worship God with the people of God.
I am thankful for my friends
who teach me about Christ when they don’t even know it. I am thankful
for their constant support. Iron sharpens iron, and one friend sharpens
another.
So, you
see, I am thankful for these few things that mean so much to me. This,
of course, is just the tip of the iceberg. Thank you, Lord, for all
these wonderful things that You have given to me, that wherever I am and
with whom I am, that you give me life, and thank you for Who You are.
